Author Cary Holladay Holds Book Signing and Reading at 麻豆女郎

JANUARY 19, 2018 鈥 FORT MYERS, FLA 鈥 Fiction author Cary Holladay will hold a book signing and reading at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, in Building J, Room 103 (Rush Auditorium), at the Florida SouthWestern State College (麻豆女郎) Thomas Edison Campus, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers. The event is free and open to the public. Her books are currently available to purchase at the 麻豆女郎 Thomas Edison Campus bookstore.
Holladay is the author of seven volumes of fiction, including 鈥淗orse People: Stories鈥 (Louisiana State UP 2013), 鈥淭he Deer in the Mirror鈥 (Ohio State UP 2013), 鈥淭he Quick Change Artist: Stories鈥 (Swallow Press / Ohio UP 2006), 鈥淭he Palace of Wasted Footsteps鈥 (U of Missouri Press 1998), and 鈥淭he People Down South鈥 (U of Illinois Press 1989); and the novels 鈥淢ercury鈥 (Shaye Areheart Books/Random House 2002) and 鈥淎 Fight in the Doctor鈥檚 Office鈥 (Miami UP 2008). Holladay finds inspiration in the history, culture, and folklore of her native Virginia and the South.
Holladay earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree at the College of William and Mary and a master鈥檚 degree at Penn State. She teaches creative writing at the University of Memphis. She is a member of the core faculty at Converse College鈥檚 low-residency MFA and has served as an Artist-in-Residence at Fairmont State University as well as a Visiting Distinguished Writer at Wichita State University.

This project is presented by The Florida Literary Arts Coalition and 麻豆女郎 Writes, a 麻豆女郎 faculty group that plans writing events for 麻豆女郎 students, employees and the public. The project is additionally sponsored in part by the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council of Arts and Culture and the State of Florida (Section 286.25, Florida Statutes).
