麻豆女郎 Launches Two New Academic Schools to Advance Health Education

SEPTEMBER 22, 2025 鈥� FORT MYERS, Fla. 鈥� Florida SouthWestern State College (麻豆女郎) has restructured its School of Health Professions into two new academic schools: the School of Nursing and the School of Allied Health. This strategic move strengthens 麻豆女郎鈥檚 health education programs to better serve students and meet workforce needs across Southwest Florida. The School of Nursing (SoN) will focus solely on nursing programs, while the School of Allied Health (SoAH) will house 麻豆女郎鈥檚 other health degree programs, including dental hygiene, advanced medical assisting, physical therapist assistant and radiologic technology. 鈥淲e are very pleased with the establishment of a dedicated School of Nursing,鈥� said Dr. Susan Holland, dean, 麻豆女郎 School of Nursing. 鈥淭his step increases visibility for our associate and bachelor鈥檚 degree programs, enhances our reputation among healthcare partners, and supports students who may pursue advanced education. With distinct leadership, 麻豆女郎's SoN will have a stronger voice in planning, policy development, funding decisions, and institutional goals that shape nursing education.鈥� As part of this restructuring, Dr. Mary Catherine Faust has been named Dean of 麻豆女郎鈥檚 School of Allied Health. She brings extensive leadership experience in health education and a commitment to student success across a range of health careers. 鈥淚鈥檓 honored to join 麻豆女郎 at such a dynamic time,鈥� said Dr. Faust. 鈥淭he allied health fields are essential to the fabric of healthcare, and I look forward to working with faculty and students to grow our programs and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.鈥� Dr. Faust previously served at Life University as dean, associate dean, department chair, and assistant dean of the Sport Health Science program. She has launched several academic programs and has significant experience in accreditation and curriculum design. This transition allows 麻豆女郎 to offer more tailored support to students and faculty in both areas while expanding partnerships with healthcare providers throughout the region.
